Summer is well and truly on its way and we in Hermanus can begin to sense more than just the flowers blooming. The air is filled with the smells of warm grapes ripening in the sun, the delicious aromas that waft through the town from the markets and the salty tempting coolness of the ocean.
With all of this in mind it’s no wonder that we’ve decided that November is the month to wine and dine our hearts out, with old and new favourites. Take a slow trip up the Hemel en Aarde valley to experience the tastes of Hermanus’ vintages firsthand, whilst nibbling on a paired canapé. Or wander through the vineyards and cellars of some well-known wineries whilst soaking up some history and some sun. However, if the wine route is not for you then Hermanus offers many unique markets from Onrus all the way to Voelklip. There you can bite into freshly made goods or relax in the shade whilst drinking an ice cold local brew (or cool drink, if you prefer!).
Whatever your fancy, remember to enjoy summer in Hermanus as much as possible by taking in all that it has to offer – there’s no time better than the present.
